Just got home from the new Harry Potter flick. I'm amazed that they keep getting better. Kudos! Five out of five stars!

Michael Gambon is not a good Dumbledore. Way to harsh. But overall, good adaption of such a long book.

Yes, Richard Harris was a great Dumbledore, but he's DEAD. We have to move on. Mike has some good qualities too. I'm used to Mike after the last installment, POA.

He was appropriately harsh I think. Things are getting more desperate as the story progresses. I didn't find any of his actions unbelieveable. I rather liked him snatching the shit outta Harry and questioning him. People DIE in the Triwizard Tournie. How could you NOT freak out if the 14 year-old somehow made it into the contest?

I just love how the entire school flips on him everytime something goes wrong. Yep Harry cheated, yep Harry's sic'ing snakes on people and killing the groundskeeper's cat. I mean, even his closest friend turned on him in this one. What a bastard!

Shawn, Shawn, Shawn, Shawn, (and one more for emphasis)Shawn!
Did you read the books? Dumbledore is the constant character, he is the calm in the storm, the sensei. He doesn't unreasonably react to anything without careful thought. He likes to watch people, gather information and then say simple wise words that no one can contradict. He is the one that annoys the over-reactive characters because they can't get a stir out of him. He doesn't allow his emotions to play across his face in some flippent way. That's why the moments when he does show his emotions to Harry are so special, but they are certantly not emotions of quick anger! Mike is to quick with his reactions, he needs to slow his character down a bit. I honestly tried to give him a chance, to have hope in him as Dumbledore would but its no use, he is just not cut for the part of the most powerful wizard of this age.
Okay now that I have said that, your responce did make me laugh. Next up? Cedric's death was obviously Harry's fault. Yeah Ron is a bit of an idiot. Too many bludgers to the head. But funny!
